Braces in only 6 Months?
In the last few months Jack has attended a variety of courses to straighten teeth. June was a very busy month for course work, he flew to Boston for a 2 day Advanced 6 Month Smile Course to provide the latest techniques for the 6 Month braces system and completed his 4 day training with Rapid Smiles in Sydney for the invisible lingual braces to straighten lower teeth. These two fantastic techniques are amazing for rapid straightening of crooked teeth using invisible or white braces.
Adult patients with crooked teeth appreciate the new techniques to straighten their front teeth in such a quick time, it isn't always necessary to spend over 2 years in braces for simple problems that can be straightened in 6 months. Jack is also happy to announce his Invisalign patients are proceeding well and this has also been an excellent addition to the practice. Invisalign allows us to straighten teeth without braces at all, just the use of clear plastic retainers that slip over the teeth.
Dentistry changes very rapidly, it is only 10 years ago that Invisalign was first released in Australia and Jack is the only 6 month smile orthodontic providers in Adelaide. It takes a considerable effort to maintain an up to date knowledge base and Jack has managed to compile 101 hours over the last 12 months. This is impressive considering the standard requirements are only 20 hours per year. Cosmetic Dentistry requires up to date knowledge due to the constant change in techniques and materials that can be used. One new porcelain veneer called Emax has only been released for a few years. It allows for our Adelaide patients to have cosmetic changes to teeth with very little shaping of the tooth structure. This new process can provide strong veneers as thin as 0.3mm but have considerable strength. These are our new standard for smile Makeovers with porcelain veneers. The longevity of these restorations when properly placed can be over 15 years.
We look forward to seeing which courses Jack completes in the next year and which new techniques we can offer our valued patients.
